Angel (05 Apr, 2007 07:12 p.m.):
"A CHEERFUL HEART IS GOOD MEDICINE"
(Proverbs 17:22)

A cheerful heart is excellent medicine. It gives a feeling of goodness inside - a feeling of happiness and wanting to make others happy too.

A miserable heart is soul destroying. It gives a feeling of bitterness - of feeling very unhappy and wanting to make others unhappy too.

I like your definition of a cheerful heart! Being bitter destroys people. I've heard the difference between between bitter and better is one letter(the letter "I") meaning it's all about "I" meaning it's all about me, myslef and I. To be better we eliminate thinking about
"I" as the most important person that needs to be taken care of, and include others in our mind and that makes us better.

I love it! I know when my heart is cheerful, I'm happy & even find myself thinking kind thoughts about my sister and it's interesting cause I do feel good.

That makes perfect sense. When I am down in the dumps, feeling sorry for myself and feeling bitter about my past, I get so self absorbed and cant cope with anyone else's needs. I often think if I pamper myself it will make me feel better but it rarely does. Then when I let someone else in, whether it be to help them, me, or for a friendly chat, it makes me feel so much happier.
